State authorities are investigating a fire that damaged a 1997 Cadillac, which was parked in Waldorf. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze, which was deemed intentionally set, occurred Friday, Dec. 27 at approximately 3:23 p.m.

โ€œThe fire was determined to be incendiary due to suspects intentionally igniting combustible materials inside the vehicle,โ€ stated Dfm. Dexter Hodges.

The blaze was discovered by a passerby. Five volunteer firefighters from Waldorf were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in five minutes.ย  The total damage estimate is $1,100. No injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Maryland Fire Marshalโ€™s Southern Regional Office at 443-550-6820.
