
WALDORF, Md. — A medevac helicopter was called to a Waldorf neighborhood Saturday afternoon after a 50-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the wrist, prompting an emergency airlift to a trauma center.
The incident was reported around 2:45 p.m. on April 25, 2026, in the 2800 block of Kelly Court. Emergency dispatches indicated the injury was self-inflicted, with a tourniquet applied to control bleeding.
Deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and confirmed the patient’s condition.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed at Bensville Park, where the patient was flown to an area trauma center for further treatment.
Additional details, including the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the man’s current condition, have not been released.
