
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. โ The Calvert County Department of Community Planning and Building is hosting informational meetings to introduce the two-year process of updating the county’s Comprehensive Plan and rewriting the Zoning Ordinance.
This is the first of many upcoming chances for residents to offer their vision for the countyโs future, from transportation, economic development and public safety to recreation, natural resources, housing and more. Four informational meetings are scheduled:

The presentations will explain what a comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance are and why they need to be updated; describe demographic, housing and transportation trends; and give a timeline of the update and rewrite project. They are meant to convey the importance of this project in advance of the first round of participatory public meetings to be held this fall.
There will be an open house 30 minutes before each meeting and staff will be on hand to answer questions.
