MSP TROOPER 7 at Medstar St. Mary's Hospital

PORT TOBACCO, Md. – On April 6, 2024, at approximately 6:25 a.m., emergency personnel responded to Port Tobacco Road in the area of Retreat Place for a serious single motor vehicle accident. An iPhone crash notification alerted 911 of the accident. 

Crews arrived on the scene and found a burgundy pickup truck off the roadway into a tree with the driver trapped. Firefighters extricated the occupant within 20 minutes and turned him over to EMS for care.  EMS evaluated the patient on the scene and requested a MEDEVAC due to injuries. 

Firefighters established a landing zone at the Port Tobacco Recreation Center for Maryland State Police, Trooper 2. The 17-year-old male patient was then airlifted to MedStar Trauma Center for treatment.
