St. Mary’s County, Md. — The final decorations are being put up, cookies are being baked, and it is finally starting to feel like what many consider “the most wonderful time of the year”.

However, according to a survey conducted by Deloitte this year, more than half of American shoppers plan to do some of their shopping during the second half of December. Accompanied with a variety of deals being pushed out by big businesses on the final Saturday before Christmas, also known as “Super Saturday”, there are still plenty of opportunities to wrap-up holiday shopping at local businesses this weekend.

Here are a few places to go for those last minute gifts:

2nd Annual Fly-In Market
44200 Airport Rd, California, MD 20619
Saturday, Dec. 21 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.)

A collaborative effort between the St. Mary’s County Airport and Historic Sotterly has resulted in what both groups hope will be the second successful indoor farmers market to take place at the Airport. While there are more slated market dates in the coming season, this event has been described by the planners as “the kick off event for the 50th Anniversary of St. Mary’s Regional Airport.”

Shoppers can expect to find local produce and baked goods, in addition to locally distilled alcohols and other various products. Not to mention, a Santa arrival via Helicopter is anticipated for around 11 a.m.

The final day of the yearly season for the Home Grown Farm Market will conclude on Super Saturday, giving people one more chance to stock up on local products for themselves and to grab a couple last minute gifts for those people that are hard to buy for. Hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, and sales are all things to expect from the friendly neighborhood farmers market closing. Additionally, Santa has been rumored to be making an appearance so don’t forget the kids.

Over 40 vendors and crafters will be culminating to offer one final chance for many people to snag gifts and local products from a variety of consultants. A wide-range of popularly gifted brands will be sold, with a number of giveaways and raffles throughout the event. This is another great opportunity for anyone who put off that shopping.
