
James Edmund “Donald” Dockery, 83 of Glen Burnie, MD (formerly of Lexington Park, MD) passed away on April 26, 2026 at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD.
He was born on February 2, 1943 in Washington D.C. to the late Harvey A. Dockery and Maria (Powell) Dockery.
Donald attended the Center for Life Enrichment for many years, where he held various positions assisting with Meals on Wheels and the Homeless Shelter. He had an ear for music and enjoyed playing the piano. He also liked to watch the boats in the water, especially on Solomons Island. He was very social and never met a stranger. He was a “foodie” and liked to dine out. He greatly enjoyed the company of his family and spending time with them.
Donald is survived by his sister, Jacquelyn Perry of Glenn Dale, MD; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lester Dockery, Harvey Dockery, Jr., and Hollis Dockery.
Family will receive friends on May 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a Service at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Great Mills, MD.
