Joyce Marie Bell, 63, of Hollywood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 8, 1962, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Patricia Lacey and the late Francis Lacey. She was a 1981 graduate of Leonardtown High School. In August 1984, she married the love of her life, William Alan Bell, at St. John’s Church in Hollywood, MD. Together they shared over 41 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, William; her son, Brian Andrew Bell (Brittani Sullivan); her mother, Patricia Lacey; and her siblings, Marilyn Norris (the late James Carroll Norris), Francis Lacey Jr. (Ruth Ann), and Dale Lacey (Brenda). She will also be dearly missed by her loyal companion, her dog Girlie Girl.
Joyce worked for many years in the cafeteria at Hollywood Elementary School, where she was known for her kindness, warm smile, and the care she showed to every child who crossed her path. She retired in 2010, leaving behind many fond friendships.
A proud member of the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge, Joyce enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her many friends. Above all, she loved her family deeply and found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Joyce’s love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
