Stay Engaged with Us This June While at Home
While our museum staff continues to work watching over our local historic treasures, planning for our popular events continues for future months – we’re excited to welcome back visitors once it is safe again to do so! We encourage you to check out the rest of this newsletter to see the lots of fun things you can do to interact with us while safely at home.

Weekly Video Series – “Wayback Wednesdays”
Every Wednesday | Facebook.com/SCIMuseum
We hope you’re loving our weekly video series showing some of the stories that make St. Mary’s County’s history so unique and interesting. We thought this would be a fun way to bring our closed museums to you while we all keep our social distance. Join us every week for short videos featuring everything from the quirky to the fascinating – tune in! We have several episodes in the playlist!

“Adopt an Egg” and Support our New Osprey Exhibit!
Help us fund our new Osprey exhibit at the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum. The eggs are part of the exhibit depicting the clutch and wingspan section. We will need three each of the 4 egg replicas. With our current closed status, our normal fundraising opportunities and events are severely limited. Your generous donation helps us move forward with installation of our new exhibit.

Enjoy Our Outdoor Grounds –  Piers Now Open!
Our Piers are now OPEN! Even though St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point, MD, and Piney Point Lighthouse Museum in Piney Point, MD are both CLOSED until further notice, our museum grounds and piers are open and well-maintained. Come walk our paths, boardwalks, enjoy our waterfront grounds, fish the piers, or have lunch in our picnic areas. We’ve got picnic tables and benches to enjoy the weather. As always, please observe recommended social distancing practices, and please remain home if you’re exhibiting symptoms.

Weekly Collections Features
Each week, we’ve begun to feature interesting or new items from our collections at St. Clement’s Island Museum and Piney Point Lighthouse Museum on our Facebook Pages. Be sure to check out these fascinating items, many of which were donated by locals and visitors!
