On Jan. 16, at approximately 11:40 p.m., TFC J. Edelen was conducting a patrol check of the Super 8 Hotel when he observed a black Mitsubishi running with its lights on and the occupants sleeping.
Contact was made with the driver, Richard Lee Thompson Jr., 22 of Waldorf, and his passenger Kiera Ashley Brien, 22 of Waldorf.
A K-9 Unit responded to the location. Cpl. R. Cuyler and K-9 Atos from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office conducted a scan which revealed a positive alert. Thompson and Brien were arrested and charged with possession not marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
