WALDORF, Md. — K&I Healthcare Services is leading the effort to offer collaborative and compassionate care to those seeking mental health support in Maryland. The organization provides services for patients in need of mental health treatment and assists individuals dealing with substance use issues.
K&I held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 15 to celebrate the reopening of its Waldorf clinic. Many staff members and guests attended the event to mark the occasion.
The K&I Healthcare Services Facebook page reads:
“We’re beyond grateful to everyone who joined us for the ribbon-cutting/grand reopening of our Waldorf location! Your presence made this milestone truly unforgettable.”
The Charles County Chamber of Commerce partnered with K&I Healthcare Services to arrange the event, while Malik Miles and The Jude House offered words of inspiration in recognition of K&I’s recent milestone.
Self-described as a Recovery Community Organization, The Jude House provides long-term programs to assist individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
The founders of K&I Healthcare Services, Ike Obiora and Kelvinda Kamara, attended the grand reopening, where they participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. K&I also commended its dedicated employees on its Facebook page, posting:
“Shoutout to our incredible staff for their tireless efforts in planning and executing such a successful event. You truly made this day shine!”
The BayNet reached out to K&I Healthcare Services for a comment about the Waldorf reopening. Community Outreach Coordinator Quanesha Richardson responded:
“K&I Healthcare Services is excited about our Waldorf location, one of our three locations, as we continue bringing accessible, high-quality healthcare to the Southern Maryland community. We specialize in offering an extensive range of community-based behavioral healthcare services, including individual therapy, medication management, mental health evaluations, and therapeutic outpatient behavioral on-site and off-site services. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where individuals and families receive personalized care to enhance their overall well-being, and we’re proud to strengthen our connection with the Waldorf community and serve the residents of Southern Maryland and beyond.”
Beyond the blue balloons and giant scissors, this grand reopening represents the availability of expanded mental health services in Southern Maryland. Among K&I’s many offerings are social skills training, anger management, and a substance use disorder program.
In addition to its clinics, K&I provides a free blog to help patients manage grief, stress, and other emotions related to mental health.
Mental well-being remains a critical issue in the U.S., and with the establishment of new clinics like K&I Healthcare Services in Waldorf, Maryland continues to expand access to compassionate therapy and personalized training programs.
