At 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a reported commercial building fire on Rogers Drive, Lexington Park.
Bay District Volunteer Firefighters quickly learned it was a kitchen fire, and upon arrival smoke was seen coming from the front on the building.
Less than 10 minutes after dispatch, firefighters reported the fire on the stove was out. Fans were brought in to ventilate the apartment.
Children outside took the opportunity to play in the streams of water shooting from the hydrant outside.
Firefighters cleared the scene before 7 p.m.
