Waldorf, MD – An early morning fire at a Charles County bowling alley started in the kitchen and resulted in damage, state officials reported. The fire at AMF Waldorf Bowling on Acton Lane was discovered by an employee and reported shortly before 2 a.m. Monday, March 14.
โThe cause of the fire was due to an electrical malfunction in an appliance in the kitchen,โ the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office reported.
Ten volunteer firefighters from Waldorf were dispatched to the one-alarm blaze and brought the fire under control in two minutes. There were no injuries.
Damage to the contents of the kitchen was estimated to be $2,000.
