On Sunday, October 16, 2011, citizens from the La Plata community gathered at the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department for their open house. The fire station hosted fire truck rides, live demonstrations, Charles County Sheriff K-9 demo, sprinkler trailer, along with many other activities and displays.
