The Bishop Ireton Lady Cardinals and Coach Mike Hutton traveled to Leonardtown to face the Lady Knights of St Marys Ryken on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Coach Hutton knew he was in for a tough battle. After starting the season 7-1 out of conference, the team had gone 0-7 in the WCAC.

The Lady Knights jumped out to a 22-2 lead ending the first quarter and never looked back,
winning 81-83 behind a swarming full court press and great point guard leadership from the Papa Johnโ€™s Player of the Game, Kathleen McCormick (22 points).

Coach Tara Everly has a very disciplined and fast team that should be very tough for a few years with only one graduating senior. (Sarah Combs-7 points) Bryanna Robinson added 18 points and Myla Somerville had 15 points.

Sarah Baldwin was named Player of the Game for Ireton with 13 points.

The game was broadcast on Baynet Radio.
