The Human Resources Association of Southern Maryland is hosting Employment Law, Legislative and Regulatory Update: Tips & Tools for Maryland Employers on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College of Southern Maryland’s Waldorf Center, Room 2030J.
No less than four new employment laws were passed by the Maryland General Assembly in 2008. Do you know what they were and how they will impact your organization? How about federal legislation? Do you know how the ADA is poised for expansion? The various proposals to alter employment verification processes? Not to mention the latest guidance issued by the U.S. EEOC, D.O.L. and court decisions interpreting any and all of the above?!

Lunch will be a “build-your-own” deli platter with your choice of ham, turkey breast, roast beef, baby swiss, provolone and cheddar, pasta salad, tossed green salad, and assorted breads and cookies from Mom’s in the Kitchen. The cost is $18 and an additional $5 for nonmembers. Payment may be made on the day of the meeting, and preferred payment method is check.
