LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Two people are facing drug charges after deputies responding to a disturbance on Point Lookout Road found suspected crack cocaine, prescription pills and smoking devices inside a pickup truck, according to charging documents.
Andre Lynn Prue, 57, of Fort Washington, and Marsha Charlene Wilkerson, 49, of Brandywine, were charged following the Aug. 16 incident in the 25800 block of Point Lookout Road.
A St. Mary’s County sheriff’s corporal responded around 3:30 p.m. for an active disturbance involving several people who had not yet separated.
The corporal directed those involved to their respective vehicles in an effort to de-escalate the situation.
Prue was seated in the driver’s seat of a red Chevrolet 2500, while Wilkerson, identified in the documents as his girlfriend, was seated in the passenger seat.
While speaking with Wilkerson, the corporal observed a glass smoking device in plain view in the center console and resting in the passenger-side cupholder.
Wilkerson told the deputy she had used the device to smoke crack cocaine the previous night, according to the charging documents.
A probable cause search of the truck was then conducted.
Inside the driver-side cupholder, authorities found a metal smoking device containing a white rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine.
Investigators also found a small green container in the center console area, approximately one foot from where Prue had been sitting. Inside were two white, hard rock-like substances suspected to be cocaine.
The documents state the container and suspected drugs were within the immediate area of both Prue and Wilkerson.
Investigators also found a clear container near where Wilkerson’s feet had been positioned. The container held women’s cosmetic products and four-and-a-half loose prescription pills marked “GG 249.”
A pill identification resource identified the pills as suspected alprazolam, according to the documents.
Both Prue and Wilkerson were advised of their rights and declined to answer questions.
After Wilkerson was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, a correctional officer conducting a search found another white, hard rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine concealed in her front right pocket, according to the charging documents.
The substance was discovered as Wilkerson was attempting to enter the secured detention facility.
Prue was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wilkerson was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession or receipt of a controlled dangerous substance while confined or detained.
Court records show Wilkerson was released on her own recognizance on Aug. 16. Her trial is set for Sept. 24 in St. Mary’s District Court.
Prue was released on his own recognizance on Aug. 17. His trial is set for Sept. 22 in St. Mary’s District Court.
