Last September Leonardtown Ford teamed up with theย Wounded Warrior Project; a nonprofit organization to help “honor and empower wounded warriors” of theย United States Armed Forces. ย Local Wounded Warrior Lance Cpl. Sean Adams of Hollywood, MD got the chance to drive a donated car by Leonardtown Ford.ย  The car was to drive in Septembers Demolition Derby in Buddโ€™s Creek, MD.ย

Lance Cpl. Sean Adams was severely injured by a roadside bomb while serving as an engineer in the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan.ย  The blast took both of his legs and nearly his life. He was awarded The Purple Heart by President Barak Obama. Leonardtown Ford wanted to honor Wounded Warrior Sean Adams and knowing that he always had a love for racing, Leonardtown Ford teamed up with Jessie Harris to rebuild a demolition car.ย  During his spare time he produced a car designed to cater to Adams specific driving needs.

The project was so successful that Leonardtown Ford plans on creating a demolition derby car every year to support the Wounded Warriors Project.ย  Lance Cpl. Sean Adams thanked Leonardtown Ford and Wounded Warriors for this incredible opportunity.ย  It enabled him to drive; something he thought would never be possible to do again in his life.
