LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Holiday cheer is coming early to Leonardtown as the town’s annual Christmas in July Shop & Stroll returns July 17-19, inviting residents and visitors to explore local businesses while getting a jump on holiday shopping.
The three-day event encourages shoppers to stroll through downtown Leonardtown, support locally owned retailers and take part in a festive passport challenge for the chance to win prize packs featuring items from participating businesses.
Shop Local, Win Local
Participants can pick up a Christmas in July passport at any participating business or at the Old Jail Museum before beginning their shopping adventure.
As shoppers visit participating retailers throughout the weekend, they can collect stamps at each location. Once a passport is complete, it can be left at any participating business to be entered into the prize drawing.
Three winners will receive Leonardtown prize packs, with winners scheduled to be notified by July 24.

Supporting Downtown Businesses
The annual event is designed to encourage residents to explore downtown Leonardtown’s unique mix of boutiques, specialty shops and local retailers while enjoying a festive atmosphere in the middle of summer.
Organizers say the event is a fun way to support small businesses, discover unique gift ideas and experience everything downtown Leonardtown has to offer before the busy holiday season arrives.
Residents are encouraged to make plans to visit throughout the weekend, collect passport stamps and celebrate Christmas a little early while shopping local.
