LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — One person was displaced Monday night after a fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to a home in Lexington Park.
Firefighters were called around 10:45 p.m. Aug. 3, 2026, to the 21500 block of Port Court for a reported structure fire involving a single-family home.
The fire originated on the rear deck and was discovered by the homeowner, who escaped without injury.
Approximately 40 firefighters from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, NAS Patuxent River Fire Department and Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department responded to the one-alarm blaze.
Crews brought the fire under control in about 90 minutes.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimated damage at $100,000 to the structure and $50,000 to the contents.
The cause remains under investigation.
