GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Anne Arundel County police are investigating after two men stole merchandise from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store and one sparked a Taser at an employee.

Northern District officers responded around 9:05 p.m. Aug. 3, 2026, to the store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway.

Police said the two men entered the business and began concealing and collecting merchandise.

When an employee approached them, one of the suspects activated a Taser, causing the employee to retreat, according to police.

The men continued taking merchandise before fleeing the store.

Police described the suspects as:

  • A Black man wearing a white shirt, orange tiger-striped pants, white sneakers and a white Washington Redskins hat
  • A Black man wearing a white shirt, tan hat and ripped light-wash jeans

Detectives with the Regional Crimes Unit are investigating.
