SOLOMONS, Md. — A Lexington Park man is facing multiple misdemeanor charges following what deputies say was a refusal to identify himself after being stopped in the wake of a reported fight outside the Tiki Bar on April 26, 2025.

According to charging documents filed in Calvert County District Court, Nicholas Juan-Antonio Ransom Jr., 24, was stopped by deputies near Charles Street around 11:30 p.m. on April 26 after officers observed a group of individuals dispersing from a disturbance in front of the establishment. Tiki Bar security reportedly pointed out Ransom and another individual as being involved in the fight.

When asked for identification, Ransom allegedly declined, questioned why deputies needed it, and refused to provide his name. Deputies say he became argumentative and began yelling, drawing the attention of nearby foot traffic. Additional units arrived in an attempt to calm Ransom, who allegedly continued to shout and refused to cooperate.

Deputies say that after multiple warnings, Ransom provided a series of incomplete or incorrect names, including “Jack,” “Nick,” and “Juan Ransom,” along with a birthdate that failed to return a valid record. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, obstruction, and providing a false statement to a law enforcement officer.

Once in custody, deputies searched Ransom and located a Maryland driver’s license in the back of his clear phone case, confirming his actual identity. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

Court records indicate Ransom was released on personal recognizance the following day. The charges—disorderly conduct, obstruction and hindering, and false statement to an officer—are each classified as misdemeanors and carry maximum penalties ranging from six months to one year in jail.

A trial is scheduled for May 28 in Courtroom 2 at Calvert County District Court.
