LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A routine traffic stop in Lexington Park resulted in multiple weapons-related and protective order charges after deputies said they found a loaded AR-style rifle within arm’s reach of a man who was legally prohibited from possessing firearms. The Dec. 17, 2025, incident has led to several charges against a 25-year-old man, who is currently being held without bond pending trial.

According to court documentation, Terell Dre’shawn Greene, 25, of Lexington Park, was charged with two counts of regular firearm illegal possession, rifle/shotgun possession disqualification, illegal possession of ammunition, and violation of a protective order stemming from the incident.

Law enforcement records state deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Trailblazer bearing Virginia plates near the intersection of Sell Drive and Prather Drive in Lexington Park on the evening of Dec. 17, 2025. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Greene, deputies reported observing an AR-style rifle in plain view on the backseat floorboard, within reach of the driver’s seat.

Police documents indicate Greene was removed from the vehicle without incident, and the rifle — identified by police as a Radical Firearms RF-15 multi-caliber firearm — was retrieved by deputies. Authorities reported the rifle was allegedly loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition and had a round in the chamber at the time it was recovered.

A records check showed Greene is the respondent in a final protective order that remains in effect until March 10, 2026. According to law enforcement, the terms of the order prohibit Greene from possessing firearms for the duration of the protective order.

Court records show Greene is scheduled to appear in court for trial on Jan. 27, 2026, and remains held without bond pending that proceeding. Under Maryland law, he could face up to 10 years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm by a disqualified person, along with additional penalties related to ammunition possession and violation of a protective order, if convicted.
