HANOVER, Md. — A suspicious vehicle call at Arundel Mills led to the arrest of an Upper Marlboro man Thursday night and the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and body armor.
Officers found a blue 2016 Ford Explorer parked around 8:45 p.m. Sept. 11, 2025 in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle. A semi-automatic rifle was visible in the open trunk, according to investigators.
The driver, Robert Arthur Muschette, 56, was later detained. Police recovered an Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 rifle, two stolen handguns, boxes of ammunition, four loaded rifle magazines, and two ballistic vests — including one marked “Special Police.”

Muschette, who is barred from owning guns, faces 14 charges:
- Regulated firearm: stolen/sell etc. — 2 counts (Misdemeanor)
- Loaded handgun on person — 2 counts (Misdemeanor)
- Handgun on person — 2 counts (Misdemeanor)
- Loaded handgun in vehicle — 2 counts (Misdemeanor)
- Handgun in vehicle — 2 counts (Misdemeanor)
- Illegal possession of ammunition — 1 count (Misdemeanor)
- Firearm possession with violent felony conviction — 1 count (Felony)
- Illegal possession of a regulated firearm — 1 count (Misdemeanor)
- Rifle/shotgun possession with felony conviction — 1 count (Felony)
If convicted, he could face decades in prison, with each handgun charge carrying up to three years and the two felony counts carrying up to 15 years each.
A judge ordered him held without bond following a bail review hearing Friday morning in Glen Burnie District Court.
