Loaded Handgun Found In Student’s Lunchbox At Benjamin Stoddert Middle School

WALDORF, Md. – On September 18 at 12:40 p.m., school administrators at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School were alerted that a student was possibly in possession of a gun.

The school resource officer (SRO) was notified and located the student who was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun, which was in their lunchbox. No threats were made.

The SRO is investigating where the student got the gun and why they brought it to school. The student, age 13, was charged on a Juvenile Offense Report with possession of a firearm on school grounds and will face school disciplinary consequences.

    1. I do love guns. But I’m also freaking responsible with them, have taught my child the dangers of them and to respect them, and I lock them up. My child doesn’t have the keys or combinations. If you own guns, it is your responsibility to maintain and secure them. Period.

    2. I love my kid more than my guns. I have bought so many guns for my son and his kids, that I have lost count. But it sure is nice to have my freezer get stocked each Fall/Winter with venison, squirrel, duck and not so much the geese. Now I don’t need to get cold and wet like I used to, when I took them out to learn about and respect Mother Nature. None have ever needed or wanted to take their guns to school.

    1. I totally agree. Also, arrest the parents for not checking on their child. So glad my children do not go to public schools. 👋
