INDIAN HEAD, Md. – On June 16, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team (SOT) joined forces with Emergency Services Teams from Charles, St. Mary’s and Prince George’s Counties for the First Annual Special Ops Torch Run to raise awareness and funds for Maryland Special Olympics.

This event was put together in memory of the late, retired Prince Georges County Police Sergeant Jerry Manley who passed away earlier this year from COVID-19. Manley was an advocate and dedicated volunteer for Special Olympics Maryland. Runners, bikers and walkers enjoyed 12.9 miles of the scenic Indian Head Rail Trail in Charles County, MD.

Thanks to all who participated to make this event so successful. A great time was had by ALL
