Leonardtown, MD– With Easter right around the corner, families enjoyed a fun day decorating chocolate-covered Peeps at St Mary’s County’s local chocolate shop, Heritage Chocolates.
The event was held Saturday, March 12 at the shop in Leonardtown Square.
Heritage Chocolates took a new twist on the iconic Easter treat by adding lollipop sticks and fully enrobing the marshmallow bunnies in creamy milk chocolate and rich dark chocolate.
Chocolatiers assisted customers as they hand painted chocolate features on to each bunny by request. Children of all ages lined up to embellish their own one-of-a-kind
bunnies with chocolate drizzles and an array of rainbow-colored toppings.
“We focus on making our decorating events fun for the whole family and our chocolate-covered Peeps make a great addition to any Easter basket,” said owner, Terra Neely. For those who may have missed the event, the shop plans to host a second Peep decorating event on March 25 and has a large selection of Easter chocolates and baskets in stock.
Heritage Chocolates specializes in fresh, locally made chocolate delights but come this spring they will expand their offerings to serve gelato.
