St. Leonard, MD – On July 26 at 2 p.m. Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery held their Maryland Wine Week celebration. This event included live music, food, and of course, wine.
Owners Mark Flemming and John Behun are very passionate about ensuring that the wine they make is from farm to table.
Everything Mark and John set out to do is not the easy way, but it is a labor of love. When drinking wine at the tasting room, the taste reflects the hard work that everyone at Perigeaux puts in.
“The land that we selected is perfect for us, it took us years to find a location like this one.” Behun said.
Perigeaux is situated between the Chesapeake Bay and the Patuxent River, giving the location a favorable climate for growing grapes.
“The soil that we have on this property is really what you need to grow good vines.” Flemming said.
Another thing that Behun and Flemming are pleased with is the Zinfandel vines. Perigeaux is the only winery in Maryland that grows and produces their own Zinfandel wine.
