LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Isaiah Marcus Jones, 26, of Lusby, was arrested in connection with two separate incidents: one involving an alleged assault and burglary on Oct. 14, 2025, and another on Oct. 17, 2025, involving an attempt to avoid a traffic stop by law enforcement, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Police records state the Oct. 14 incident began when a witness reported that Jones arrived at a residence and began banging on the door. When the resident answered, Jones allegedly forced his way into the home. The witness stated that he went upstairs and assaulted the victim while they were sleeping before leaving the scene.
Officers spoke with the victim, who reported being awakened by multiple strikes to the head with a closed fist. Based on the investigation, Jones was charged with second-degree assault, violation of a protective order, and third-degree burglary.
Three days later, on Oct. 17, at approximately 3:50 p.m., deputies observed a gray Jeep Cherokee reportedly weaving through traffic on Chancellors Run Road. Court records indicate the vehicle was registered to Jones and that a single male was driving. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle allegedly continued onto FDR Boulevard without stopping. According to the report, deputies deactivated their emergency equipment and did not pursue further.
Jones was later taken into custody, and charges related to both incidents were filed on Oct. 30, 2025. If convicted on all counts, Jones could face a maximum penalty of 10 years of imprisonment for third-degree burglary, 10 years for second-degree assault, and 90 days for violating a protective order.
A preliminary hearing related to the Oct. 14 incident is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s District Court, Courtroom 1.
A trial related to the Oct. 17 incident is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s District Court, Courtroom 1.
