On April 8th, Deputy First Class Gott was made aware of a stolen vehicle from Anne Arundel County, and then observed it on Route 4 Southbound in the area of Ball Road. Gott attempted to make a felony traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, identified as Jahmek Iszaha Wright Anthony, 19 of Clinton, initially pulled over, but upon seeing more police vehicles arrive behind him, he fled.

According to charging documents, โ€œThe driver of the vehicle cut across both north and southbound lanes of Route 4, and went down the access road towards Calvert Cliffs State Park, and then attempted to turn north onto H.G. Truman Road. He lost control of the vehicle, and rolled the vehicle. The vehicle ended up on the roof, and the driver escaped the vehicle and tried to flee on foot.โ€ Wright-Anthony ran about 50 feet before he complied to police officers and laid down. He was taken into custody after being administered medical treatment for a sore neck.

Wright-Anthony is charged with Reckless Driving, Negligent Driving, attempting to elude an officer in a vehicle, and attempting to elude an officer on foot. He will go to trial on June 10th at the Calvert County District Court.
