LOTHIAN, Md. — A 19-year-old Lothian man was arrested Monday after robbing a gun store at gunpoint, firing a shot, and fleeing with multiple stolen firearms.
Officers responded around 11:40 a.m. on April 28, 2025, to South County Sportsmen, located at 5643 Southern Maryland Blvd., for a report of an armed robbery. Investigators say the suspect, later identified as Aaron Delonte Whitley, entered the business, browsed briefly, then drew a handgun and ordered the clerk to unlock a display case containing firearms.
While the clerk complied, Whitley allegedly fired a round into the case, grabbed several handguns, and fled the store on foot with the weapons stashed in a backpack. No injuries were reported.
Minutes later, an officer spotted a suspect on Sands Road matching the description. Whitley was detained and found in possession of five handguns, including four stolen from the store and the weapon used in the robbery. Recovered firearms included a .40 caliber Polymer 80 and four 9mm Glock handguns.
Police say Whitley is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested and charged with more than a dozen offenses, including armed robbery, first-degree assault, theft, reckless endangerment, and multiple firearms violations. He is being held without bond at the Glen Burnie Detention Center and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 28 at the Annapolis Courthouse.
The investigation remains ongoing.

I wonder if judges keep releasing these crime-spree individuals so they can bet money on their next crime.
