
David L. Scopin
California, MD— On March 8, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Gerard Mushchette responded to Walmart located at Miramar Way in California in regards to shoplifters in custody.
When Mushchette arrived on the scene contact was made with the loss prevention officer, in regards to the defendant identified as David L. Scopin, 31, of Lexington Park passing all point of sale with unpaid items. Scopin and another individual identified as Elizabeth Davis were stopped at the entry doors, “with a total of 20 items,” according to charging documents.
The total number of articles that Scopin paid for was five, and the remaining fifteen items that the defendants attempted not to pay for were returned to Walmart. Scopin and Davis have been issued criminal citations for theft under $100 and also issued notices not to trespass at that Walmart location.
Scopin has a tentatively scheduled hearing April 28 in District Court.
