On September 30, 2012, officers responded to Exploration Drive Lexington Park, Maryland for the reported robbery.  Responding officers located a 53 year old female victim who advised she was walking to her vehicle when she was approached from behind and struck from behind and repeatedly struck in the face. 

The victim’s purse was stolen and the assailant fled in the victim’s vehicle.  Officers broadcast a lookout for the vehicle and the victim was transported to a local area trauma center by Maryland State Police helicopter.

The victim’s vehicle was located unoccupied behind the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department and witnesses provided a description of the driver. 

Officers located Patrick Lesean Butler, age 19, of Lexington Park, Maryland in the area and identified him as the assailant.  Detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded and assumed the investigation. 

Butler was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Assault Second Degree

  • Theft – Motor Vehicle

  • Theft Under $100

Butler remains incarcerated in lieu of $250,000 bond.
