On Sunday, August 11, 2013, Detective Mudd of the Calvert Investigative Team was contacted in reference to a sexual assault that occurred at a residence in the 1100 block of Calvert Beach Road in Saint Leonard, Maryland.
The victim, a 20 year old female from Leonardtown, Maryland was at this residence attending a party. The victim became intoxicated and decided to go to sleep in a vacant bedroom within the residence. She was awakened when she realized that she was being vaginally penetrated by someone.
When she asked who was on top of her, the person replied, “David.” She then demanded that he get off of her and began to scream. She struck the suspect in the head with a bottle during the altercation.
Through the victim’s statements and the statements of other guests at the party, the suspect was identified as David Lee Anderson, Jr, 19, of Lexington Park, Maryland. The victim knows Anderson, but only through other friends.
On Monday, August 12, 2013, Anderson was located at his residence in St. Mary’s County and transported to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. He was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree rape, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degree sex offense, and 2nd degree assault.
He was transported to the Detention Center pending his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
