At 3:27 a.m. July 25, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Officer was dispatched to 5001 Christiana Parran Road, Chesapeake Beach regarding a possible drowning.
Upon arrival they discovered a black male, later identified as Grandville Evans, Jr., 24 of Landover, had been pulled from the backyard swimming pool by Virginia Quesenberry, a resident of the home.
Evans was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by EMS personnel where he was pronounced dead.
As a result of a preliminary investigation, it appears that Mr. Evans had consumed drugs. The investigation is still ongoing.
