A tree service worker sustained traumatic injuries Friday after falling off his log loader truck, after the crane grapple apparently clipped telephone wires and snapped a pole.
The call went out at 11:44 a.m., dispatching members of the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad to the scene on Route 5 near Little Flower School in Callaway.
The man was treated by rescue volunteers and a responding paramedic for a reported head injury. Trooper 7 helicopter was on the ground within 15 minutes of dispatch, to take the man to Prince George’s County Hospital.
