
MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — A 38-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma center following an accidental shooting incident early Tuesday morning in Mechanicsville, Maryland.
Fire and rescue personnel responded to the 35600 block of Golf Course Drive on October 22, 2024 at approximately 7:27 a.m. after receiving reports of the man accidentally shooting himself. Upon arrival, emergency crews found the victim with a gunshot wound to the right side of his forehead.
The severity of the injury prompted an immediate request for a MEDEVAC. Maryland State Police Trooper 2 was dispatched to the scene, with a landing zone established on the nearby Wicomico Golf Course.
The circumstances surrounding the accidental discharge remain under investigation.
