Great Mills, MD – An early-morning accident involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle is under investigation by the Maryland State Police (MSP) in St. Mary’s County. The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, May 28 at the intersection of Route 237 and Sayre Drive in Great Mills.
The injured pedestrian was identified by the MSP’s Leonardtown Barracks as Phillip Leo Harris, 51. He was flown to a hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Daniel Shaw, 19.
According to police, Harris was in the roadway when he was struck by Shaw’s vehicle.
No charges have been filed in connection with the incident, which is being investigated by Tfc. Pitcher of the Leonardtown Barracks.
