ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A late-night head-on collision on Generals Highway left one man dead and sent two others to area hospitals.
The crash occurred just before midnight on Feb. 20, 2025 when a 2015 Hyundai Sonata traveling northwest near Knollwood Drive crossed the center line and collided with a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 47-year-old Jonathan David Rober of Crownsville, was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Toyota’s driver, a 38-year-old man from Crownsville, was not injured. However, two passengers in his vehicle, both 26-year-old women from Annapolis, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One was taken to the University of Maryland Regional Medical Center, while the other was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Authorities have not determined what caused Rober’s vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic. The department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is continuing its investigation.
