The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred on July 17, about 10:54 p.m. in the 900 block of Truro Lane in Waldorf.
Two men, ages 51 and 43, were walking home. As the younger victim approached the residence the elder victim stopped to check the mail but was approached from behind by a group of suspects. One of the suspects knocked the victim unconscious and stole his money, cell phone, credit card and identification. The other victim heard the attack and came to the first victim’s aid but was sprayed in the face with a substance that burned his eyes.
The suspects fled down Truro Lane toward Route 205. Nothing was stolen from the second victim.
