
WALDORF, Md. — A 24-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday night, Dec. 17, 2025, after being shot outside a building in Waldorf, prompting a large emergency response and a medical helicopter transport.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 9:25 p.m. to the 3000 block of Gallery Place after a 911 caller reported that someone had been shot.
Fire and rescue units initially staged nearby while law enforcement secured the area. Once the scene was deemed safe, emergency medical personnel entered and requested a medical helicopter.
Responders arriving on scene found the victim lying on the ground in front of the building with multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to the chest and arm. Medics worked to stabilize him at the scene.
The patient was flown by a Maryland State Police Trooper 2 helicopter to an area trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspect information or motive has been released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
