LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A 48-year-old man was injured in a stabbing Wednesday morning in Lexington Park, prompting a request for a Maryland State Police helicopter.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 10:45 a.m. July 15, 2026, to the 21900 block of Springwood Court.
Crews arrived to find the man suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. A knife was reportedly involved in the assault.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 was requested and was awaiting the patient at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
No information about a suspect or what led to the assault was immediately available.
