On May 9, 2015, at 8:30 PM, Deputy Bare responded to a residence on Clarks Rest Road in Leonardtown, for a reported domestic assault.
The victim alleged suspect Patrick Roy Thompson, age 30, of Leonardtown, grabbed the victim by the arm; shoved and punched the victim in the face during an argument.
Thompson then went to the garage and retrieved a machete. When the victim entered the doorway of the garage, Thompson swung the machete at the victim but missed. The victim fled upstairs to a bathroom and locked the door.
Thompson was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Assault.
