On August 21 at 2:08 a.m., officers responded to the Pure restaurant and club at 2427 Crain Highway for the report of an assault.
A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect, Billy Jerome Proctor, 27 of Bryans Road, was involved in an alteration. A security officer asked Proctor to leave at which point Proctor displayed a handgun and threatened the employee. Proctor got in a car and attempted to flee but sheriff’s officers stopped him. A handgun was recovered and Proctor was arrested.
He was charged with first-degree assault. Officer M. Wagner made the arrest.
