Lexington Park, MD— On June 10, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Krum was on routine patrol in the area of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. While on patrol Krum observed a man walking along the sidewalk near the entrance to St. Mary’s Square. The man was identified as Jason M. Reintzell, 39, of Lexington Park. Krum knew due to prior contact with various officers of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office that Reintzell was currently a wanted person.

Krum informed Reintzell to place his hands behind his back as he was under arrest for the active warrant. According to charging documents, “Krum has had past involvement with Reintzell, he is a well known as a drug user.”

Before searching Reintzell, Krum asked him if there were any drugs on his person which Krum needed to know about. Reinzell stated, ‘no man,’ however when Krum asked him if he was in possession of any needles on his person, Reinzell said, “I don’t know man I might have one in my pocket,” according to charging documents.

Krum located one hypodermic needle within Reintzell’s left cargo shorts pocket. Reintzell was read his Miranda Rights and stated that he understood them.

Reintzell was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where nine white pills tablets and two half tablets were found in his possession.

Reintzell was charged with two counts of controlled dangerous substance possession not marijuana and possession of contraband in a place of confinement.

At this time, Reintzell does not have a scheduled court date. Reintzell faces a maximum jail sentence of 11 years and/or a maximum fine of $52,000.
