
Hollywood, MD— On Feb.11, Maryland State Police Trooper ย D. Coppedge responded to the Lifelong Landing Lane for a reported assault. An investigation revealed that James Alton Abell, Jr., 18, of Hollywood had assaulted a male victim.ย
The victim stated that the defendant and his girlfriend were, “zoned out like zombiesย when he returned from the bar,” according to charging documents. The victim instructed he wanted the defendantย to leave the residence. The defendant and his girlfriend left the house after a heated argument.ย
The victim attempted to talk to the defendant about the dangers of drug misuse.The defendantย told the victim, “that he was not in the mood to hear his (victim) lectures and began to threaten him with a fire poker.”ย
Abell was placed under arrest for assault second degree and transported to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center. Abell was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
Abell at this time does not have a scheduledย court date. Abell faces a maximum jail sentenceย of 10 years and or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
