***The Maryland Department of Health has information that is not current with what St. Mary’s and Calvert County Health Department officials are reporting. At this time, St. Mary’s County is showing 122 positive cases. Calvert County is reporting 125.***

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. โ€” As of Sunday morning at roughly 10 a.m., the Maryland Department of Health(MDH) is confirming a total of 12,830 cases of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19) across the state of Maryland, while there are going to be more results that are presumably still waiting to be confirmed.

This new total means there are 522 newly confirmed cases in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, over 2,886 people have ever been hospitalized, and 129 of those were recorded in the past day.

914 previously infected people have been released from their isolation according to MDH, 143 of which have been recorded in the past day.

23 people in the state have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the stateโ€™s death toll unfortunately up to 486.

Negative test results also grew, with at least 1,999 negative confirmations in the past day, bring that total to 55,061.

At this time, there are at least 617 officially confirmed cases in the Southern Maryland region. Charles County saw their previously confirmed total of 347 cases rise to 370. In Calvert County, MDH has confirmed four new cases overnight, leaving their total at 113. However, the Calvert County Health Department is confirming a total of 125 cases.

St. Maryโ€™s County now counts cases on a rolling basis, and records from the county show a total of 122 cases as of 11 a.m., which is three new cases from Saturday’s update.ย 

A majority of the positive cases across the state are still found in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. PG County still has the most cases of any county in the state, with an overnight increase of at least 185 cases bringing the total to 3,345.

Since yesterday, Montgomery County saw an increase of at least 103 newly recorded cases, bringing their total to at least 2,507.

Anne Arundel County has also confirmed 42 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing their official total to 1,047.

On April 18, the total number of confirmed cases by the Maryland Department of Health was at least 12,326. As of April 19, that recorded number is at least 12,859, showing over a 4.3% increase across the state in the past 24 hours.
