Baltimore, MD – Each fall, the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) presents its draft six-year capital program to every county and Baltimore City for review and comment. The department then prepares a final budget to present to the General Assembly in January.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, the MDOT tour will be visiting the three Southern Maryland counties. The tour will begin at 10:30 at the Calvert County Commissioners meeting in Prince Frederick; travel to Leonardtown for a session with the St. Maryโ€™s County Commissioners at 1:30 p.m.; and wrap up in La Plata at a meeting with the Charles County Commissioners.

According to a MDOT advisory, the Hogan Administrationโ€™s six-year Draft FY 2018-2023 Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP) invests $14.7 billion in Marylandโ€™s transportation network. Above and beyond this funding, the Maryland Transportation Authority is investing another $2.6 billion in Marylandโ€™s toll roads and bridges.

In addition to Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn, officials on the tour include State Legislative Officer Tom Curtin, MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration: Field Operations Director Rhashad Johnson, MDOT Maryland Transit Administration Local Transit Support Deputy Director Jeannie Fazio, MDOT Maryland Aviation Administration: Regional Aviation Assistance Director Ashish Solanki, MDOT State Highway Administration Administrator Greg Slater and District Engineer Corren Johnson; and Maryland Transportation Authority: Executive Director Kevin Reigrut.
