Friday, May 3 – First Free Friday. Patuxent Voices, Southern Maryland’s premiere women’s A cappella group, will perform “The Life of a Woman” concert at 7:00 p.m. FREE 30-minute boat rides on the Wm. B. Tennison. Museum and Drum Point Lighthouse open and free to the public, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, May 4 – Solomons Maritime Festival. 10 am – 5 pm FREE! Come and celebrate Southern Maryland traditions! This family event offers something for every member of your family. The Antique Boat and Marine Engine Show, Chesapeake Bay retriever demonstrations, carving, home crafts and cooking demonstrations, children’s games, and free boat rides for all. Thursday, May 16 – PEM Talk: Sustainable Chesapeake David Moyer presents What Is Sustainable Seafood? Join us for this free talk at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Knowing how to eat well, eat local, and eat in an environmentally responsible way is a very tricky business these days, especially when it comes to seafood. Calvert Marine Museum curator for estuarine biology, Dave Moyer, will explore the issues around sustainable seafood, the local seafood sourcing, and how to access and evaluate the mountain of information that is out there.
Friday – May 17 – BAND PERRY CONCERT – Waterside Concert Series presents The Band Perry. This hot, young country band will perform live on the PNC Water Pavilion stage. Tickets are $45 and $55. Additional fees apply. MUSEUM CLOSE
