GLEN BURNIE, Md.ย – The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) and the MDOT Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) have teamed up to provide customers with the ability to purchase a CharmCardยฎ through MDOT MVAโ€™s website and self-service kiosks. The MDOT MTA CharmCardยฎ is a rechargeable smart farecard that can be used to pay for MDOT MTA transit services on Local Bus, Light RailLink and Metro SubwayLink. The cards that are ordered on the site or at kiosks will be mailed to the customer.

โ€œOffering the CharmCardยฎ on the MDOT MVA website and kiosks, is a great example of our One MDOT approach to creating efficiencies and delivering on our customer service promise,โ€ said MDOT Secretary Pete K. Rahn.

โ€œThe CharmCardยฎ is one of the easiest, safest and most convenient ways for riders to pay for their fare,โ€ said MDOT MTA Administrator Kevin Quinn. โ€œBy partnering with MDOT MVA, we are now increasing the opportunity for Marylanders to get this card in one convenient transaction.โ€

MDOT MVA offers many online service options, including vehicle registration and tag renewal, driverโ€™s license and ID card renewal, address change and VEIP extension.ย  The CharmCardยฎ purchase option is found in the โ€œAdditional MD Productsโ€ section of the MDOT MVA online services homepage, which also provides the ability to purchase an E-ZPass โ€œOn the Goโ€ transponder and renew a boat registration.
