Starting with less than 100 trees placed modestly in the parking lot of Earlโ€™s Barbecue in Charlotte Hall. (Now Ritaโ€™s of Charlotte Hall).ย  Years following, the tree sales slowly grew and the sites grew as well. The Club moved its Christmas tree sales to Club Sunrise in Charlotte Hall (now Burger King) and later was held for many years at DJโ€™s One Stop in Mechanicsville.

While at DJโ€™s the Christmas Tree Event grew to its largest size, a 600 tree event, and the Club grew with the event. In the late 80โ€™s McKayโ€™s Food generously allowed the club to set a Northern Stand up in its parking lot. Since then, the club has managed to maintain two lots. In 2010, the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department generously donated its Carnival Lot as a new stand and staging area. The Club has always interacted with other community service organizations and the MVFD / MVRS has always been a large part of the Clubโ€™s annual operations as well as membership!

With about 60 Club events a year, the Christmas Tree Event still requires the full effort of the Clubโ€™s membership to cover the week night and full day weekend shifts. We also receive assistance from local community service workers provided by the St. Maryโ€™s County Stateโ€™s Attorneyโ€™s office.

By providing hope and positive vision through the members of this Club, this Club will bring out the best in kids.
